  • Falling objects: Objects such as tools and building materials can fall from a height and cause severe injuries or fatalities. 
  • Weather: Wet weather and ice can increase the risk of slips and trips. Wind can also blow tools and debris off the worksite, which can hit people on the ground. 
  • Overhead power lines: Direct contact with power lines can be fatal, but even getting too close can cause dangerous electrical shocks or flashovers. 
  • Insufficient protective equipment: Poor or inadequate protective equipment can increase the risk of falling and lead to fatal accidents. 
  • Debris chutes: Tools and debris can create a trip and fall hazard, especially if someone falls off scaffolding. 
  • Unprotected edges and openings: These can be a hazard when working at height.
